Nina Preuss demonstrates TCG’s commitment to project management excellence
Washington, DC, September 23, 2008: TCG is proud to announce that Nina Preuss, one of TCG’s highly qualified project managers, has received her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI). With her certification, all TCG project managers have the PMI imprimatur and TCG can assure its clients of the highest levels of project management expertise.
The PMI sponsors a project management certification program, the purpose and goal of which is the development, maintenance, evaluation, promotion and administration of a rigorous, examination based, professional certification credential of the highest caliber- Project Management Professional (PMP).
Beyond academic credentials, certification by the PMI as a PMP indicates that a project manager has mastered essential project management skills and knowledge. To earn PMI’s PMP credential, individuals must demonstrate the required “long-term commitment” to project management professionalism and pass a rigorous, 200-question exam covering the five project management processes and nine knowledge areas in PMI’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
The PMP certification demonstrates high level of expertise and knowledge of project management concepts and practices. PMP certification aspirants have to fulfill certain educational and professional experience requirements before they can take this certification. Furthermore, they are expected to adhere to the code of professional conduct and maintain their commitment to project management profession after attaining the PMP certification by satisfying the PMI’s Continuing Certification Requirements Program. Worldwide there are almost 100,000 PMP’s who provide project management services in 267 countries.
The PMP Certification Examination measures the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques that are utilized in the practice of project management. The PMP Certification Examination is comprised of 200 four-option multiple-choice questions that are developed and validated by project management professionals. The examination is reviewed and revised annually to satisfy the examination test specifications and to ensure that each question has a referenced source.
PMP credentials undergo a vigorous process of development and maintenance that is recognized by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
