The Association ha contracted with the Professional Examination Services (PES) to conduct a study that will formalize the qualifications and knowledge required to be certified as a Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS). This demonstrates the NGMA’s commitment to creating a certification that will be recognized across government, non-profits, and foundations as the gold standard for grants management professionals. A professional certification for grants managers has been an essential missing component in the whole grants ecosystem, and represents just one of the many standards that must be developed to create common understandings of language, practice, and excellence in grants management.
