This is the first time that the FDP meeting has been held in this part of the world. I live quite close to this location, so I thought a quick list of good local restaurants may be useful! So here it is, in order of approximate distance from the Hyatt, with links to Yelp where available.

• Coastal Flats, Fairfax Corner (great seafood and wonderful barbeque ribs!)
• Cheesecake Factory, Fair Oaks Mall, Fairfax (vast quantities of grub; be prepared to wait for a table)
• Texas de Brazil, Fair Oaks Mall, Fairfax (Brazilian steakhouse; you’d better like meat)
• Five Guys, Fairfax Towne Center (outstanding burgers)
• Sakoontra, Fairfax (really great Thai)
• Angeethi (may have spelled this wrong), Herndon (superb Indian food, including great Balti)
• Clyde’s, Reston Town Center (grand American dining)
• Da Domenico, McLean (excellent veal)
• Clydes Willow Creek Farm, Ashburn (a slightly nicer Clyde’s but further away)
• Fireworks Pizza, Leesburg (pizza right from a wood-fired oven; yummilicious!)
• Tuscarora Mill, Leesburg (atmospheric American eats)
