Nominations are now being accepted for the 2009 Excellence.Gov Awards, sponsored by ACT-IAC’s Collaboration & Transformation Shared Interest Group. This awards program is one of the most prestigious in the industry, with recognition being given to agencies with successful IT programs across government.
The theme this year is “Transparency: Using IT to improve the interaction between Government and its Stakeholders” which is very timely, given the new administration’s focus on opening up government’s operations to public scrutiny through technology.
Nominations are due by January 16th. You can get the nomination form and more details at www.actgov.org/excellencegovawards.
(Full disclosure: I was the chair of this program in 2007, the co-chair last year, and was involved in developing the award theme this year.)
