This Year’s Theme: “Improving Organizational Performance Using Information Technology”

Nominations are now open for the 2008 Excellence.Gov Awards, and we want to hear from you! Are you working on a program that deserves recognition or do you know of one? Each year the Excellence.Gov Awards recognize the federal government’s best IT projects and we need your help in identifying those truly deserving programs.

The theme for this year’s Excellence.Gov Awards, “Improving Organizational Performance Using Information Technology,” focuses on how federal government organizations use IT to improve mission delivery to citizens, businesses, taxpayers, other government agencies, and other end-users. A panel of judges comprised of both federal government and industry executives will evaluate each nomination for organizational improvements in the following are as:

• Reduced costs

• Increased productivity

• Improved management decision-making ability

• Improved response time to customers (citizens, businesses, taxpayers, other government agencies, etc.)

• Improved governance

• Project’s influence on PART scores

Nominations must be received by 5 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2007.

The top 20 finalists, including the top 5 award winners, will be highlighted at an award luncheon in March 2008.
