GovExec has an interesting tidbit:
The Bush administration’s fiscal 2008 budget proposal will detail the financial benefits of an effort to consolidate back-office information technology systems across government, an Office of Management and Budget official said Tuesday.
Presumably this will be the product of the survey that OMB sent out to agencies late last year. With any luck, the numbers will be viewed for what they are, rather than being used as ammunition for anyone who wants e‑gov or the LoB’s to fail, unlike the performance metrics that OMB published recently.
