Big Dog is a quadruped robot developed by Boston Dynamics with funding from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). This thing can traverse rough territory while carrying significant payloads, which could be very useful in situations such as battle, health emergencies, and other extreme conditions. I just had to post this because it’s so incredible and, like the folks at Gizmodo noted (where I found this), it appears to be so animal-like that you’re sorry for it when some guy tries to deliberately knock it down!
