TCG To Support USDA’s Lean Six Sigma Grants Process Initiative

We will be issuing this press release first thing in the morning. We’re very excited about this project, for working at USDA again and because of our application of Lean Six Sigma techniques to grants streamlining!

TCG TO SUPPORT USDA’S LEAN SIX SIGMA GRANTS PROCESS INITIATIVE

Complements the GMLOB initiative; modernizes and streamlines grant business processes

Washington, DC, May 1, 2007: TCG, a leading government technology strategy and IT company, announced today that the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded the company a contract to provide program management services for the Lean Six Sigma Grants Process (LSGP) initiative.

Under this contract, TCG will apply Lean Six Sigma techniques to analyze USDA’s grants business processes, develop a needs assessment, support organizational transformation and transition, improve customer satisfaction, and align with the Grants Management Line of Business (GMLOB).

“The LSGP initiative is vital to USDA’s grants management business,” said Daniel A. Turner, President of TCG. “First, it has strategic importance through its goal of modernizing the Department’s grants processes and aligning them with the GMLOB. Second, it will demonstrate the value of Lean Six Sigma techniques by applying them to grant-making, one of USDA’s most important missions. Our experience in other agencies shows that this kind of work has the potential to significantly improve government operations, and we are delighted that USDA has placed such faith in our company and advisors.”

The work will be performed by TCG’s Washington, DC, office and will be supported by T3 Technologies, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business. TCG is engaged in GMLOB alignment and systems development projects elsewhere in the government, and will draw upon that experience to provide best value to USDA. The company is quickly becoming known for its GMLOB alignment specialization, and presented some of its best practices at the National Grants Management Association Conference in April 2007.
