DUNS/CCR Study released

For the last while, a collaborative group formed by members of the National Grants Partnership and Federal Demonstration Partnership have been working on a study to uncover the “issues that exist with DUNS number management and the CCR registration process.” The study was released today, and you can get it here. From the posting to NGP members:

The survey was distributed to members of the National Grants Partnership and the Federal Demonstration Partnership to obtain grantee input. Although it is clear from the findings that further analysis and input are necessary, we believe the survey represents the first step toward identifying barriers and recommending potential solutions to help improve the business processes of federal grant applications, awards, and payments.

The survey findings reveal three important points:

  1. Grantees have started establishing policies to assist with DUNS number management.
  2. Problems exist with the current DUNS/CCR registration process
  3. A central data warehouse for all grant applicant data would be beneficial

We hope that you will consider the issues raised by the survey as the federal workgroup on DUNS/CCR carries out its objectives. Members of the NGP and FDP would be happy to assist you in obtaining input from the grantee perspective. Specific questions on the survey can be directed to Merril Oliver at moliver@gov.state.md.us or Ron Splittgerber at ron@research.colostate.edu.
