TCG’s Robert Buccigrossi Nominated as CTO Innovator of the Year

New Awards Program Recognizes Contributions of CTOs

Washington, DC, October 13, 2010:  Dr. Robert “Butch” Buccigrossi, TCG’s Chief Technology Officer, has been selected as a nominee by Washington Technology and the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) for their inaugural Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Innovator of the Year award. This new program recognizes the contributions that government contractor CTOs have made to their companies and to their customers over the past year.

Dr. Buccigrossi has been an integral member of TCG since the company’s founding 1994, and in that time has been an invaluable player in leading the company to success. Dr. Buccigrossi’s nomination recognizes his contribution and achievements over the last year, such as migrating the company’s computing resources into a virtual farm, setting up a company-wide collaborative development environment, CMMI promotion and training, leading our company-wide taxpayer savings goal of $1 billion by 2016, and leading a number of significant government projects.

Winners will be picked in three categories: small business (under $100 million in annual revenue), midsize business ($100 million to $500 million) and large business (more than $500 million). Dr. Buccigrossi is a nominee in the small business category, which has 15 nominees. NVTC will recognize all nominees and announce the finalists and winners for all categories during TechCelebration: NVTC’s Annual Banquet on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner where John Chambers, chairman and CEO of Cisco, will be the keynote speaker.

“Butch has been instrumental in coming up with ways to use technology to help us save costs — both internally and for our customers — and in helping us to streamline procedures and processes, contributing tremendously to TCG’s overarching mission, which is to Save Time,” said TCG President Dan Turner. “Without Butch, TCG would not be where it is today.  I simply cannot say enough in support of his nomination for this honor.”
